Shoaib Akhtar
Fast Bowling Legend — 'The Rawalpindi Express'
The fastest bowler cricket has ever seen
Shoaib Akhtar is a former Pakistani cricketer universally known as 'The Rawalpindi Express' and the fastest bowler in the history of the game. In 2003 he became the first bowler to break the 100 mph barrier, clocking a delivery of 161.3 km/h that still stands as the fastest ever recorded. Across a career spanning 1997 to 2011 he terrorised the world's best batsmen with raw pace, devastating reverse swing and toe-crushing yorkers. He represented Pakistan in Tests, ODIs and T20Is, played county and franchise cricket around the world, and produced match-winning spells on the biggest stages. Since retiring he has become one of cricket's most popular and outspoken commentators. He remains an icon of fast bowling and one of the most charismatic figures the sport has produced.
