Private NursingPsychiatric NurseI have been attending private patients for more than four years now.
I look after the patient's needs such as cleaning, walking and helping with daily needs. Some patients do not require this assistance, however I remain close by to keep them company.
Giving medicines, injections or being around them as a supervisor is also my duty. I have also stayed at the residences of patients but sometimes I am only asked to visit.

6 Years & 3 MonthsWill ClinicPsychiatric NurseI worked as a psychiatric nurse for the patients in the hospital and ensured that every patient's medicine was given at the same time each day. Every patient's meals and routine for physical exercises or reading was written out clearly and had to be followed in the same pattern every day.
I was also in charge of giving medicines, cleaning, maintaining environmental cleanliness and attending to the emotional needs of the patients.
It was a demanding job as I had to be present if the patients specifically asked for me.

Private Patients
I have taken care of several private patients in their homes.
I have handled more than five patients in their own homes. I have also stayed at their residences and performed duties round the clock.
I took care of a patient recently and administered medicines and most importantly, I was responsible for keeping him busy so that he does not think a lot and get upset.
It was also my duty to help him with the basic daily routine like shaving and taking him for a walk.

Training
I have trained with psychiatrists in order to be able to handle psychiatric patients.
It requires a lot of skill and more than that patience and the ability to 'play' along with the patients.
There are patients who believe you are someone else and you need to let them stay in their realities and exercise patience and tolerance greatly.
All this is attained easily if you have a helpful nature and the doctors helped me immensely and trained me to do my best.
